Gladiator Controls

  • Movement: Use WASD or Arrow Keys to navigate the arena floor. On mobile, use the virtual on-screen joystick.
  • Gladius Combo (Slash): Press Space, Left Click, or J to chain up to 3 sword attacks with accelerating arcs.
  • Shield Block & Parry: Hold Shift, Right Click, or K to block frontal damage. Tap right as an attack lands for a Perfect Parry!
  • Dodge Roll: Press L or double-tap direction to roll with invulnerability frames (i-frames).
  • Imperial Whirlwind: Press E or U when your Glory meter reaches 100% to spin through the enemy ranks.

Combat Tactics & Timing

  • The Perfect Parry: Timing your shield block within 250ms of an incoming strike reflects damage, staggers the assailant for 1.5s, and instantly awards +25 Glory!
  • Unblockable Red Telegraphs: Heavy Secutor Brutes and Champions flash RED before crushing slams. Do NOT block these — use your dodge roll!
  • Stamina Discipline: Attacking, rolling, and blocking consume stamina. Step back briefly to let your stamina gauge refill.
  • Colosseum Braziers: Push enemies near flaming perimeter braziers or use fire hazards to control crowd spacing.

Arena Foes & Champions

  • Legion Recruits: Agile sword-wielders that swarm in numbers. Easy to defeat with 3-hit combo sweeps.
  • Retiarius Spearmen: Keep their distance with spear thrusts. Roll inside their weapon reach to strike.
  • Secutor Brutes: Massive armored heavyweights carrying iron maces. High HP with unblockable overhead smashes.
  • Titus Bloodaxe (Wave 3): Dual-axe berserker who enters whirlwind charges when enraged.
  • Aurelius the Colossus (Wave 6): Tower-shield champion wielding an iron flail that sends shockwaves across the sand.
  • Maximus the Undefeated (Wave 10): The Emperor's champion in golden armor with arena-clearing blade sweeps!
